I just finished reading a new book by one of my favorite authors, J.D. Robb (pen name of Nora Roberts for her In Death series). The book I just finished reading was called “Encore in Death”.

This lady’s husband was killed and she said this when talking to the main character Eve Dallas in the interview afterwards:

“I don’t know how to be without him. Who do I talk to first thing in the morning or the last thing at night? You have friends, you have work, but first thing in the morning the last thing at night, and at odd times in between, you’re alone”.

Isn’t that so true? And while she was talking about her spouse, it’s true of anyone we lose. We don’t know how to be without them.

One of my favorite sayings is “It sucks. It just sucks”.

What quotes from books have really resonated with you?
