I have been working on reading and listening to some audiobooks and think I have finally broken out of my reading rut.

The audiobook I just finished is called Eat that Frog by Brian Tracy. I was introduced to Brian Tracy several years ago by my friend Jacqueline.

It’s based on an old saying attributed to Mark Twain that basically says “if you eat a frog first thing in the morning, that’s probably the wort thing that will happen all day”. What Mr. Tracy teaches is to make a list each day of what you need to get done and then prioritize it. Do the most pressing tasks first, then the next one, and so on.

Often, we get bogged down in minor tasks that do not contribute a lot of value to our life or our work. So, get those most important tasks knocked off your list first thing.

It’s also a great way to tackle tasks on which you tend to procrastinate. “Eat that frog” and then move on.

I’m also part way through reading a book that an acquaintance of mine wrote, and can’t wait to share more about it with you.
