When I was doing some counseling with the hospice chaplain after Tom died, one of the things he said to me was “You have to feel it to heal it”.
I’ve made a conscious effort to allow myself to feel my emotions over the last few years.
We tend to moralize emotions and see them as “good” or “bad”, but emotions are just emotions. It’s what you do with them that matters.
What you’re feeling isn’t wrong or bad, it just is.
Trying to bury them or ignore them, just lets them fester and come out in unhealthy ways.
So today’s motivational quote that I want to share with you is “feel it to heal it”.
