I finished re-reading the Alice in Wonderland story. I forgot how very strange and dark the story is.
There were some thoughts I had when I was reading it. While Alice was falling through the rabbit hole for a very long time, it reminded me of my overthinking. At one point, she picked up something off a shelf and was examining it, and I thought “wow”.
I often refer to my overthinking as going down the rabbit hole. Things are swirling around in my mind and running through my mind like crazy. I’ll “pick things up off the shelf” and examine them.
One of my favorite quotes ever is in this story: “She generally gave herself very good advice, (though she very seldom followed it).”
Another favorite is this one: “I could tell you my adventures-beginning from this morning,” said Alice a little timidly. “But it’s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.”
Next up is Through the Looking Glass. I’m curious to see how well I remember that story.
