I just finished rereading “Are you there God? It’s me, Margaret”, one of my favorite childhood books. With a movie coming out in April based on the Judy Blume story (which I fully intend to go see), I wanted to reread the book, so I borrowed it through the library and read the e-book.

If you were a young girl once or you know a young girl (I’d say ages 9-10 and up), I highly recommend the book. It’s just such a heartfelt look into the life of a young girl coming of age. Even though the book came out in 1970, it still rings so true.

One thing I have to say is that I have felt like Margaret when I’m praying. Wondering if he is listening and hearing what I’m saying. I know when Tom was sick and dying, I was really angry with God for a long time. I managed to work through that, but I still often find myself wondering if he is listening to me.

Can’t wait for this movie to come out!
