I wrote this poem a few weeks after Tom passed away. I had been seeing butterflies and dragonflies everywhere.
Butterflies,
Dragonflies,
Long and short,
And sad good-byes.
Thankful for time together,
Wish it had lasted forever.
On my mind,
All the time,
Missing you,
Through and through.
Time flies fast,
Remember the past
And yet look ahead,
Remember the “I love yous’”
That were said.
Say them now,
Please don’t wait,
Time flies past,
But it’s not too late.
Hold the hand,
Give the hug,
Say “I love you”
Before the good-byes.
Butterflies,
Dragonflies,
Long and short,
And sad good-byes.
