I have been listening to “Happier with Gretchen Rubin” for probably 3 ½ years or so now. Since 2020, she has done a challenge for her listeners each year.
Previous years were:
#walk20in20
#read21in21
#rest22in22.
This year is #outside 23 in 23. In other words, she is challenging people to get outside for at least 23 minutes a day. I was very successful with the 2020 and 2021 challenges. I found the 2022 challenge a little more um…challenging.
I plan to do the Outside 23 in 23 challenge this year. Sunday, I went outside and sat on my bench and read for 23 minutes. Yesterday, I went outside a couple of different times and just enjoyed the fresh air.
When I was sitting outside the first time, it was foggy. It made me think about how Tom used to talk about how he loved walking in the fog. The world does sound and feel different when there is a heavy fog.
I think the Outside 23 in 23 challenge could be really good for me, especially since I have struggled to keep my Vitamin D levels up. It will also encourage me to get out and walk around and get back to building those steps up.
The biggest issue is going to be the weather. I have heard the saying “there is no bad weather, only bad clothes”. Well, if I am going to succeed in this challenge, I may need to improve my clothes lol. But, I am just going to do the best I can and not get too hung up on being “perfect”.
