Seven years ago tonight, Tom and I went to see Weird Al Yankovic in Enid. I remember it was the Sunday night of our vacation week and we had such a great time. We both really love Weird Al.
One of the songs we played at Tom’s memorial service was Weird Al’s “Word Crimes”. If you knew Tom, he was kind of a grammar/spelling nerd. He would not use many abbreviations in text messages, the whole word usually had to be spelled out. And the most annoying response in the world via text message was “K”. He would go on a long rant about how the person could at least have put the “O”.
It was a great night and so much fun. Since we didn’t have to work the next day, we went to IHOP afterwards and I found this sign in the bathroom. Still makes me chuckle.
